Park Place Outreach, Inc., formerly Marshlands Foundation d.b.a. Savannah Runaway Home, has served the Savannah community since 1984 providing emergency shelter, meals, and counseling to at-risk youth and their families. Park Place Outreach provides a safe, secure, and loving temporary home for children who are homeless, runaway, or victims of abuse, and also for youth in DFCS and DJJ custody as a preferable alternative to foster care or detention. It is a 12-bed emergency shelter serving youths ages 11 through 17. They are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with the goal of helping family reconciliation and supporting children through the process.
Park Place Outreach is the only facility in Savannah and Chatham County at which children can self report without an agency or family referral. They work closely with Greenbriar Children’s Home when longer-term placement or transitional living services are needed. Park Place Outreach is licensed by the Georgia Department of Human Services and certified by the Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless and is supported in part by the U.S. Dept of Health & Human Services Administration for Children and Families. Park Place Outreach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
